- Associate Degree from a vocational school or technical college of at least 1800 hours
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Products to generate graphs and data collection sheets document procedures and methods
- Ability to understand and apply basic mathematical and statistical concepts
- Must have schedule flexibility and be able to work 630pm-630am (rotating 4 days on, 4 days off)
- Educational experience equivalent to a High School Diploma with five years previous technician experience, or an Associate's Degree with three years previous technician experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with one year experience
- Two years previous sterile processing experience, instrument room, or central supply experience in an acute care setting with comparable patient mix (trauma, open heart, total joint replacement, complex neuro procedures)

- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform repetitive bending and lifting motions over a period of time
- Requires bending, twisting, squatting, pushing / pulling motions and lifting up to 50 lbs

- Prioritizes and assigns shift duties, monitors follow through of other Instrument Techs and reports positive and negative results back to the Surgical Services Manager
- Gives feedback to OR and Instrument Techs at appropriate times in the workflow process
- Oversees and participates in new employee training
Qualifications for sterilization technician
- Demonstrated ability to learn and understand procedure and protocol
- Six (6) months to one (1) year of previous warehouse / Sterilization / GMP experience preferred (food or medical device)
- Six (6) months to one (1) year of experience operating a forklift preferred
- General understanding of microbiology and cGMP preferred
- Must stand on feet for extended periods of time and work in a sterile production environment
- State Licensure or certification as a Sterilization Processing Technician, as required by state regulations or contract specifications
